Alturnertive Prize

The alTURNERtive Prize was established in 2002, at Welling School in South east London by Henry Ward. The exhibition encourages students to engage with independent practice and is timed to coincide with the Turner Prize at the Tate.[1] The exhibition has been judged by critics such as Michael Archer (who judged the Turner Prize the year Keith Tyson won) and the artist Anna Barriball, and has been presented by Richard Wentworth, Hew Locke, Ryan Gander and Ben Lewis.
